How to schedule and edit Facebook posts

Facebook doesn’t sleep but you do, right? No matter how much you are obsessed with Facebook; there are always times when you can’t access your computer or mobile device to be active online. To stay on top of your growing social audience, you can schedule and edit Facebook posts whenever you want.

Scheduling Facebook posts really work well when you are unavailable to post your updates, but what happens when there is a typo in your text and you want to make changes. Fret not; Facebook has an option for editing your scheduled posts as well. Now, let’s dig a little deeper and find out how to schedule and edit Facebook posts.

How to schedule Facebook posts

  • Type your post as you normally would. You can add links and YouTube videos, attach photos, add tags to other pages or just write your Facebook post in regular text
  • Navigate to the lower-left corner of your post and click on clock symbol. Now, you can choose the time, day, month and year you want the post to go live

  • You can also add target audience and location in your scheduled posts, just like a regular Facebook post
  • Once you have set everything, click the blue ‘Schedule’ button resting in the bottom right corner

Don’t forget to get back to your Facebook posts later after the scheduled time to watch for follow-up comments.

Bonus tip: You can even back date your posts to supplement your Facebook wall if you wish.


How to edit scheduled Facebook posts

  • You can view and edit your scheduled Facebook posts. To do so, you have two options:
  1. From the Admin Panel, click ‘Posts’ appearing at the left-hand side of the panel and then click on ‘Activity Log’
  2. Navigate to Admin Panel > Edit Page > Use Activity Log

  • Once you are in the Activity Log, you can view all of your scheduled posts
  • Search for the Facebook post you wish to change
  • Hover close to the top right corner of selected post and click on ‘Edit’ button
  • After editing, your posts will be published at the assigned time

You can only edit the main text of your posts, not an image or link. However, if you want to change an image or a link in your scheduled posts, you have to delete it and schedule again.

You can not only schedule and edit Facebook posts but can also reschedule and share them to your other social media networks, you’re using.

How to reschedule Facebook posts

  • Go back to your Activity Log and find the post you want to reschedule
  • Hover to the top right corner of selected post and click on ‘Reschedule’ button

  • A pop-up box will appear where you can change the old date and time
  • Click on Reschedule and you’re done with rescheduling your Facebook posts

Now, the post will go live on the new date and time.

How to share scheduled Facebook posts

If you are in the habit of using multiple social accounts, there is good news for you. Facebook permits you to share your updates to other social media networks. You can find the unique URL for each of your scheduled posts and share them with a couple of clicks. To find URL for a scheduled post,
  • Go to Activity Log and find the Facebook post, you want to share
  • Click on ‘Timestamp’ to open post, then simply copy the page URL

Your friends can only view scheduled posts after the update is live on Facebook.
